Summer Semester 2016~17 - Course Registration
    

INSTRUCTIONS

DO NOT SKIP READING THESE INSTRUCTIONS – THEY ARE IMPORTANT
  1. All students are advised to change their "Password/ Default Password" in "Student Login" before registration, to protect their registrations from hacking. They should use a strong password for their login and should not share their password with their friends. University does not take any responsibility if their course registrations are altered/ deleted by others.
  2. The registration link is open from 22-May-2017 (Monday) till midnight of 25-May-2017 (Wednesday).
  3. Fresh registrations (including Grade Improvement, Minor, Honours and Audit) are not permitted (for both CAL and non-CAL students) during Summer semester. However, 5 year Integrated M.Tech (Software Engineering) students and also the final year students of all programmes are permitted to register for two fresh (first time) courses. This is to give an additional option to complete the minimal credit requirement for graduation. Maximum of four courses (reregistration/ fresh) can be registered / re-registered during the summer semester.
  4. Courses with “F” and “Y” (in CAL) grades will be permitted for Re-registration. Final year student can re-register for the courses that already has an “N or W” grade. However, such re-registrations will be counted under ‘Fresh’ registrations.
  5. Students under CAL can re-register a component of a course that they have failed to clear in their earlier registration. Re-registration of either one or more components of a course will be counted as one registration.
  6. For clearing the courses with backlogs, the non-CAL student should choose only one of the following options: (a) FAT as Arrear, (b) Regular Arrear, (c) Summer Semester.
  7. All courses, including that of M.Tech. programmes, will be offered under CBL mode only. ‘Project only’ courses will not be offered except Innovation projects (INV201, INV202, INV501). Students registering INV projects are not permitted to Register or Re-register any other courses during the Summer (since INV projects need full time dedication).
  8. M.Tech. students admitted during AY 2016-17 also should register for their Fall 2017-18 semester (Fast track) courses using the same link available for the Summer 2016-17 semester registration. Senior M.Tech. students (AY 2016-2017 admitted batch) are permitted to Re-register their eligible arrear courses in their free slots, subject to a maximum of four registrations including that of their Fall fast track semester courses.
  9. Though students can register (confirmed registrations) for a maximum of 4 courses, they are permitted to add a maximum of two courses under waiting list (independent of credits). Maximum of 60 students will be retained under waiting list in each theory/ lab class. Students are permitted to ‘Delete’ a wait listed course on their own. In few cases, confirmation of wait listed courses will be made within two days after the closing of Registration after a discussion with the Schools concerned and the rest of the waited listed courses will be deleted.
  10. After applying for registration, click 'Generate Receipt' to generate the 'Fee Receipt' in Student Login under 'Summer Sem 2016-17 => TimeTable' Menu. An option to 'Cancel Receipt' is provided for the Reregistered/ Additional Fee Receipts (and thereby corresponding registrations). Once payment is effected, they cannot be cancelled.
  11. Last date for payment of Re-registered/ Additional courses will be 19th May 2017 (Friday). Re-registered/ Additional courses that are not paid will be removed on 23rd May 2017 (Tuesday).
  12. An option to register the Theory or Lab component of an embedded course is made available if the student had completed the other component as a separate course.
  13. Under unavoidable circumstances, there may be a change in faculty/ venue. All efforts will be taken to keep such changes to a bare minimum level.
  14. To keep the session alive, refresh the browser once in 3 minutes. To “re-login”, properly “Log Out” before closing the browser.
  15. An error message "Service Unavailable" indicates that server has reached its maximum limit of users and hence please login after some time.
  16. If you face any software related problems, please contact +91 44 3993 1578/1503. The person attending your call is unlikely to be familiar with course/ Programme related details.
  17. For program related queries like course(s) offered/ not offered/ slots/ faculty/ Venue/ No. of seats, please contact your Program Chair/ Faculty Advisor.
